I’m currently a sophomore and this is my first year at Girls Build. I aspire to attend an university and major in computer science. One reason I join Girl Build is because it is a community that empowers young women to be someone in the world. It is a place women can inspire women. My favorite quote is, "There’s a moment where you have to choose whether to be silent or stand up." Malala |

I’m a senior and I’ve been in GBLA for a year now. A career I’d like to try and pursue is something in the field of psychology. I joined GBLA as an opportunity to impact the lives of the people who are around me. It’s a club where we can grow as individuals and learn how to navigate through the distractions and focus on things that are important to us as a group and as individuals. “You didn’t make it this far to ONLY get this far.” |

I am currently a senior and this is my first year in GBLA. In the future I want to become a pediatrician and also be a chef on the side. I joined GBLA to be able to feel more confident and lead women in a positive way. My favorite part about being in GBLA we are able to meet and help each other out as a team. “You must tell yourself, no matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets, I’m going to make it.” |

I’m currently a senior and I have been in GBLA for 2 years. I hope to become a neurologist or psychiatrist in the future. I joined Girls Build because I wanted to be a part of the change that would help benefit my community. My favorite part about this club has been the memories I have created with my team in the past years. It is amazing to reflect on how far along we’ve all come along and how much we have grown, both individually and as a group! |

I am a high school math teacher that enjoys sparking curiosity in students of all ages. This is my fourth year coordinating the Boyle Heights Girls Build team, and second campus chapter. I love the girls' enthusiasm to celebrate STEM in their community. My role model is Angela Duckworth, the author of Grit. When I’m not deciphering math problems in real life, you'll find me walking my dog Kobe, crafting or dancing My favorite quote is from John Wooden, "Be true to yourself, help others, and make each day your masterpiece." |
